Job description:
Positron Diagnostics is a leading diagnostic imaging center specializing in cutting-edge PET/CT technology. Our goal is to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services, ensuring accurate detection, diagnosis, and management of diseases. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Physicist to join our multidisciplinary team and play a critical role in ensuring the safety, accuracy, and efficiency of our services.

The Medical Physicist will support and optimize the clinical, technical, and safety aspects of PET/CT imaging in compliance with regulatory guidelines. The role involves ensuring the quality of imaging, radiation safety, and the implementation of advanced imaging protocols to support accurate diagnostics. Collaboration with nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals is key to this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Equipment Management
  • Perform and oversee routine quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) tests for PET/CT scanners and associated equipment.
  • Develop and maintain protocols for PET/CT imaging procedures, ensuring consistency and accuracy.

Radiation Safety
  • Serve as the Radiation Protection Officer (RPO)
  • Ensure compliance with national and international radiation safety regulations.
  • Monitor personnel dosimetry records and ensure staff exposure.
  • Ensure patients doses remains within ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.

Clinical Support
  • Collaborate with radiologists and technologists to optimize imaging protocols for diagnostic accuracy.
  • Provide technical guidance on the use of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Assist in resolving technical challenges related to PET/CT imaging.

Training & Education
  • Train technologists and staff on imaging protocols, radiation safety, and equipment operation.

Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain compliance with local, and international regulations and guidelines.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for inspections and accreditation processes.

Research & Development (Optional)
  • Participate in or lead research projects for the advancement of PET/CT imaging technologies and techniques.
  • Collaborate on clinical trials involving PET/CT imaging when applicable.


Qualifications:

Education:
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or a related field.
Certification & Licensure:
  • Licensure or registration as required by national regulations.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a clinical environment, preferably with CT imaging.
  • Experience with radiation safety programs and regulatory compliance.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in PET/CT imaging systems, QA/QC tools, and radiation monitoring devices.
  • Familiarity with radiopharmaceuticals and dosimetry calculations.
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration and patient interaction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
